What we’re looking for:
The Intellum JavaScript Engineer will design and implement features for our applications, front-end and back-end. They should also help maintain the application by fixing bugs and suggesting/improving places where the code can be made better with refactoring. They are expected to have real-world experience managing complex projects and to be capable of designing performant solutions that scale and meet business needs, maintaining a high-quality standard.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to their team or domain meeting goals by consistently delivering on projects that have high complexity and critical business impact
- Build new features for the Intellum platform while considering the implications of security, scalability, accessibility, and reliability
- Write well-crafted, high-quality, and easy-to-maintain code, , ensuring the utmost attention to detail in every aspect of development.
- Write unit and automated tests for new features
- Fix bugs as assigned via support and QA processes, and improve application performance
- Help resolve issues in production and work on preventing them from repeating
- Work closely with designers, Product, and QA to document requirements and iterate on feature development
- Actively share knowledge and insights with teammates, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Conduct code reviews for fellow developers, providing constructive feedback and promoting code quality.
Requirements
Our Stack:

- Solid back-end (models, database) experience with expressJS + mongodb
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and Jira
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience developing software professionally
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with a strong grasp of modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Solid understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience with NodeJS and working on production NodeJS applications, including some back-end exposure (models, database).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of evolving web technologies and a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends.
- Experience in working with SaaS platforms or LMS solutions.
- Background in user-centered design principles and UX/UI considerations.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree with technical focus (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) preferred

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, etc.
- Extended time viewing a computer monitor
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Occasional irregular work hours
