We have an opportunity available for a Mid-Senior React Native Developer to join our growing company! This will be offered as a permanent, full-time position based at our office on Collins Street, Melbourne.

About The Role

In this role, you will be working with the JAMS (Job and Asset Management System) team developing our mobile applications and other web applications and technologies. It will primarily involve upgrading our current Xamarin mobile solution to a React Native solution.  Following this, it will also involve other development work in the JAMS application with ReactJS and other web technologies.

The JAMS system is an in-house software system that is used throughout Service Stream to manage our maintenance contracts and to enhance efficiency and productivity.  The solution offers tools for work order management, asset management, resource and inventory management, cost control, field mobility, GIS/mapping etc.

An agile and progressive/iterative approach is used and will require constant communication with the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scoping requirements of business needs.
  • Producing clear documentation of requirements and solutions.
  • Liaise with the Application Manager to review proposed development.
  • Self project-manage the delivery of your solutions using agile methods.
  • Report progress to the Business and Application Manager through JAMS tools and JIRA.
  • To learn, adopt and use the standard development and testing techniques, conventions, patterns etc used in JAMS.
  • To produce timely and good quality work that satisfies the business overall.
  • Produce technical documentation, user documentation and conduct training as required.
  • On completion of any work, provide BAU support to the business including triaging of issues, implementing fixes/tweaks, modifications or improvements.
  • Continually look at opportunities to improve operational processes and solutions as a key member of the business.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with web technologies.
  • Ideally 3 years of experience with React Native mobile development across iOS and Android.
  • Expert level proficiency in JavaScript and Typescript, and a high level of proficiency in HTML, CSS.
  • A good understanding of SQL, preferably MS SQL Server.
  • Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience working in Telecommunication, Gas, Electricity and Water Utilities industry domains is highly desirable but not essential.
