What you are going to do

You are going to use technologies and tools such as AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, etc.), JavaScript/TypeScript (Next.js, React, NestJS, Node.js and more) and A.I. Besides directly contributing to the codebase, a big part of your responsibility is to coach others to become better software engineers, help us develop general best practices and foster a true engineering culture. Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Build software with the best possible user experience, while following an API-first approach
  • Implement modern best practices for software development, such as automated building, testing and deployment through CI/CD
  • Collaborate closely with your team members by doing pair and mob programming
  • Coach others to become better software engineers and further develop their strengths
  • Talk to other departments, teams, and users to explore their needs and produce feasible solutions
  • Advocate a DevOps mindset and help us to create a true engineering culture

Who you are

Finally, you are eager to learn and always looking to acquire new skills or try modern technologies, methodologies, and processes.

You have 5+ years of experience in software development and have experience in building applications using AWS (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, etc.).
You have a passion for automation and implementing recurring tasks, testing, and security in CI/CD systems.

Furthermore you will bring:

  • Experience with NodeJS (TypeScript) and NestJS
  • Experience in developing standard RESTful APIs
  • Experience with SQL and noSQL databases
  • Experience with DDD and microservices design

A big plus is:

  • Experience building applications using Serverless
  • Experience with tools and frameworks like Next.js, Zod
  • Experience with Docker or K8s

Who you will work with

You will join a partially remote cross-functional product team in the IT department of Schade Intermediair. In this department, we create B2B insurance products for intermediaries and direct customers. Our focus is to create an amazing user experience, expand our product offering and improve operational efficiency.
