Job Description

Title: Senior JavaScript Engineer/Full Stack Engineer

Location: Reston, VA / Fully Remote

Duration: 12 Months – Possible Extensions

One of our direct educational client located in the Reston, VA area, has 2 openings for Sr. Full Stack developer with experience Javascript, nodejs, react, typescript and serverless experience in aws (“lambda, dynamo, s3, sqs/sns, api gateway, cdk/cloud formation”)

Note- It’s a remote Opportunity so I need solid Javascript experience with AWS.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

About the Team: This team develops applications for content authoring using modern tech stacks such as Node.js, Typescript, Python , AWS, DynamoDB, React

They own the full stack, from the infrastructure in AWS to the front-end and back-end code deployed there. Building everything serverless, in the cloud, leveraging current technologies and Client techniques to be a force-multiplier for the programs they serve. They are strong advocates of work/life balance and flexibility with schedules when needed. Use Agile scrum to manage their work and deliver value regularly following a DevOps model.

About the Role: Senior level full stack technologist with focus back-end microservice development, AWS infrastructure and react - 70% back/node & 30% from/react.

Must Have Skills:

AWS DynamoDB

AWS Lambda

AWS S3

AWS - SNS/SQS

CDK/Cloud Formation

JavaScript (ES6)

TypeScript

Node.js

React js

Test automation (Playwright, Jest, Mocha, WebDriver or similar frameworks)

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on software projects with product design and technical teams.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to implement and troubleshoot AWS CDK and Github Actions.
• Develop, test, release, and maintain back-end services, and AWS infrastructure.
• Work as a technical contributor on an Agile team.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS required (major in an analytical field desired).
• A minimum of 5 years’ work related experience.
• Advanced experience working with Node.js, AWS, AWS CDK, Typescript/Javascript, NoSQL database (Dynamodb).
• Advanced experience working with Github Actions and CI/CD.
• Advance experience in implementing serverless applications on AWS.
• Experience in hands-on development of software applications in a highly scaled environment.
• Experience working on Agile engineering teams.
• Experience in doing pair programming with fellow engineers.
• Some experience working in Python.
