About the role  

We’re looking to hire a Senior Node.js Developer to play a key role in developing and maintaining web services that connect the database layer to the front-end for a significant financial project—a wealth management system for one of North America's largest banks. You will assess business requirements and endpoint specifications to ensure they align with project objectives. As a technical back-end leader, you will offer support and mentorship to team members while crafting adaptable software solutions that respond to evolving business needs. Close collaboration with Node.js developers on the client side will be crucial for achieving seamless integration and functionality. Your expertise will be vital to the success of this high-profile project and to fostering continuous improvement within our development practices. 

Responsibilities 

• Create and maintain web services that serve as a bridge between the database layer and the Front-end 
• Review business requirements and endpoint specifications 
• Provide technical back-end leadership and support to other team members 
• Develop flexible software solutions to support changing business requirements 
• Collaborate closely with Node.js developers on the client side 

Requirements 

• 5+ years of experience developing Web applications 
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture 
• Strong knowledge of Node.js 
• Experience with Express 
• Experience with GitHub, Redis, Postman, Jenkins 
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services 
• Experience with writing unit tests, preferably with Jest 
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and give accurate time estimates 
• Experience mentoring junior team members 
• A desire to constantly improve as a professional and stay on top of the cutting-edge technologies 
• Excellent spoken and written English 

A significant advantage would be 

• Experience with Loopback 4 
• Experience with LaunchDarkly, UrbanCode, SonarQube, Aquascan, Vault 
• Experience with Vue.js 
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
