DEPARTMENT BRIEF

Our teams in Entity Intelligence and Financial Engineering are focused at delivering industry-leading, foundational Entity Data from across the FactSet Dataverse to power workflows tailored by firm-type and give clients the flexibility they need to generate business-critical insights. FactSet engineers demonstrate an ability to critique code and production environments for continuous improvement, as well as to receive and apply feedback effectively. This collaborative environment fosters the development of deep expertise in our products. Our focus is on creating robust software that enhances data volume collection with consistent quality, stability, and adherence to best practices. This position will enable you to gain a mastery of the products you're contributing to and participate in forward-looking design discussions aiming to improve systems based on observations and hands-on experience with the code and production environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles.
• Ensure that deployed products are properly maintained throughout their lifecycle and participate in on-call responsibilities.
• Participate in design and code reviews across multiple projects and teams.
• Be a quick learner, open to acquiring new skills and knowledge.
• Make strong technical contributions to projects within the team with a focus on new enhancements, stability, and performance.
• Be self-driven, collaborating closely with the team lead, and take responsibility for independent project execution.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3 - 4 years of experience.
• Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in VueJS and Node.js (2+ years of experience).
• Working experience on FastAPI and familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Proficiency with Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy and Flask.
• Experience with scalable and distributed systems.
• Working experience on AWS services, Lambda, EC2, S3, AWS Glue etc.
• Proficiency with object-oriented design principles.
• Organized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with any web tech stack.
• Experience or knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools like GitHub and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and their deployment methodologies.
• Experience in automating application deployments with tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
