This role sits within the Consumer technology area and allows you to own and ship new features all of our client's customers love and use daily. You'll be working within the ZCL Home team, joining backend and full stack developers building, maintaining and optimising various integrations that enable our client to provide many of the products he offers.
In this role, you will work within a product team and collaborate with other teams to build reusable components and platform capabilities and have the opportunity to work on a number of experiences touching all of our client's existing product range and new product launches.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing new features by designing and implementing them using the appropriate principles and design patterns
- Maintaining existing code and writing automation tests to ensure a high standard of quality
- Diagnosing and fixing critical bugs and improving performances
- Writing documentation for new and existing features
- Coordinating with other team members and the product team.

The following key skills and experience are required:
- Strong experience in software engineering, with a focus on back-end development with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience with Terraform and AWS
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development is welcomed
- Experience with Kafka would be a plus
- A desire to learn how to build resilient, scalable, and secure systems
- A passion for technical excellence
- Ability to efficiently comprehend new systems and dive into technical issues
- Adaptability and flexibility when dealing with change and ambiguity
- Ability to interpret and communicate information in a clear and concise manner to others (technical/non-technical team members etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Bachelor or higher degree in computer science (or equivalent).
