About Our Team
We move lightning-fast in an industry that was previously slow to adopt technology. As Vetcove quickly expands its offerings to better serve veterinary groups and their pet parents, we’re quickly growing our engineering team to keep pace with the rapid expansion of our business, while maintaining exceptional code quality and system integrity.

About the Position
As a mobile software engineer, you will be a key member of our engineering team who is responsible for supporting our newest mobile app initiatives. This level of involvement includes plan formulation, creation, maintenance across our mobile applications. You will work closely with many native mobile components (e.g. audio, camera, video) and have the opportunity to work with the latest mobile technologies, frameworks, and libraries!

We rely heavily on React Native for our mobile app initiatives (and will occasionally use custom native code as needed). Some additional tools we use:
Mobile Tech Stack: Expo, React Native, Typescript
Libraries: Renimated, React Query
Backend: Python, Django
Other Tools: Sentry, Bitrise
Version Control: Git
What you’ll do
Lead development of our veterinary clinic and pet parent companion mobile applications
Contribute to the conceptualization and feature documentation of new ideas and product enhancements
Work closely with our design team to discuss feature implementation, user experience, and microinteractions
Building and extend interactive React Native mobile applications that will be used by tens of thousands of veterinary clinic users and millions of pet parents
Build reusable mobile components for use by the larger team
Implement new features in our React Native applications
Working directly with our CTO and engineering team, as well as across other functions to continuously evolve our mobile strategy
You should have
3+ years of professional software engineering experience building mobile applications using React Native
Experience in building a professionally successful, production mobile application
Fluency with JavaScript’s features as a prototyped and functional language
Good software testing habits
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly and manage many concurrent responsibilities
A strong desire to help our customers succeed
A positive attitude and one-for-all team mentality
Experience working with an backend service and fetching data from API endpoints
Tech/start-up work experience is a plus
