The OpportunityOur client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in building an innovative Carbon Planning platform that helps global enterprises power emissions reduction. This platform serves some of the world's most recognizable companies, representing over $1T in market value, helping them reduce risks, save costs, protect revenues, and manage emissions aligned with business objectives and sustainability goals.
What you'll be doing
  • Drive the development of core systems for Planning, Scenario Modeling, and Analytics capabilities
  • Execute the full software development lifecycle
  • Build and evolve intra-system interoperability
  • Identify and implement improvements and innovations within the software
  • Work across the stack to deliver value to customers
  • Become a subject matter expert in travel and expense data and planning software systems
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, pairing, ADRs, and presentations
  • Participate in technical analysis, design, development, and unit testing phases
Your qualifications and experienceMust haves
  • 5+ years of software development experience in JavaScript database applications
  • Expertise in ReactJS, NodeJS, Typescript, Javascript
  • Strong experience with SQL 
  • Experience with data-intensive, distributed systems
  • Proven experience with AWS (S3, RDS, EC2, IAM, Fargate, etc.)
  • Experience with identity providers, ideally Auth0
  • Strong background in global, enterprise SaaS development
  • Experience working in agile development environments using git
  • Ability to debug complex problems across the entire stack
  • Strong experience in building or using Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) systems
  • Experience going from 0 to 1 in project development
Nice-to-haves
  • Experience with data analytics and database technology
  • Experience with building analytical systems
  • Knowledge of carbon emissions and sustainability metrics
  • Experience mentoring and sharing knowledge with team members
