Lead Front End React Developer with extensive React experience required to join one of our high profile projects on a permanent or contract basis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading an agile workstream of React FE Developers on an eCommerce project, contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning and estimations
  • To be comfortable representing FE in a client-facing capacity
  • Stay current with evolving standards and technologies, learning new skills as needed
  • Comfortable to juggle a mix of hands-on/hands-off with Team Lead responsibilities, effective management of workload, mentoring junior members of the team, contributing to code reviews etc
  • Proactive nature is a necessity, vocal when necessary in escalating issues and highlighting any areas that need wider team action
  • Ability to converse confidently with technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Architectural decisions to be agreed with Front End Architect and implemented and maintained on the project to ensure consistency and quality

What we want from you:

  • Mastery of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (ES6) adhering to industry defined coding standards
  • Commercial experience of hands on React development, with a solid understanding of the core concepts including recent additions i.e. Hooks, Context API
  • Solid understanding of state management technologies/approaches i.e. Redux, Flux
  • Commercial Experience with a Type Checking language either Flow or TypeScript (we use TypeScript)
  • Commercial experience of unit testing/Integration/end-to-end testing (we use Jest, React-testing-libraries and Cypress)
  • Commercial experience of JavaScript ecosystem tooling such as linters/formatters/bundlers (we ESlint/Prettier/webpack)
  • Experience of using CSS pre-processors, CSS-in-JS (we use SASS and styled components)
  • Commercial experience of using version control tooling (GIT) in a large development team performing Continuous Integration
  • Good understanding/awareness of Accessibility, SEO Principles, Security, Performance best practices
  • A desire to write readable, maintainable, modular and extendable code
  • Experience in bringing multiple viewport responsive and adaptive web designs to life

If you know some of this even better!

  • Knowledge of Node and NextJS
  • Additional Commercial Ecommerce platform experience – Magento/Hybris /Shopify
  • Experience of working on Java/Node/C#/PHP projects would be extremely advantageous
  • Experience with content management platforms such as AEM
  • Commercial experience in building headless solutions
