About the Opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Mobile App Developer – React Native initially on a 6mth FTC.  As a React Native Developer at Metcash, you will play a crucial role in bringing to life, maintaining, and rapidly iterating on our consumer-friendly shopping mobile app this application is a companion to our web experience www.igashop.com.au. 

The Mobile App Developer collaborates closely with our engineering team which builds & maintains IGA’s digital platforms. This role is supported by and works closely with a designer & and product manager as well as business stakeholders. 

In this Role 

• Develop mobile applications using React Native, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and user-friendliness.
• Write clean and maintainable code that follows industry best practices and coding standards.
• Debug and resolve issues, optimize app performance, and ensure smooth user experiences.
• Collaborate with the QA team to conduct thorough testing and ensure the quality of the mobile apps.
• Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Build unique experiences for mobile app users through integration with partner vendors including Auth0 (for authentication) and Braze (for user engagement).

You’re Likely a Match If

• Proven experience as a React Native Developer, with a strong portfolio of mobile applications.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript and its ecosystem, as well as React version 16.8 and later and its core principles.
• Familiarity with state management libraries (React Query) and asynchronous programming in React Native.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating them into mobile applications.
• Knowledge of mobile development & security best practices and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with native mobile development preferable across iOS & Android.
