We are assisting a Department of Defense (DoD) health IT program in modernizing 25+ legacy Ext.js applications into React.js. Our internal team has developed an AI-powered tool to automate the conversion process, and we need a React.js Developer to validate, test, and refine the resulting output.
This role is focused on reviewing and correcting AI-generated React code, ensuring functional alignment with the legacy system. It is ideal for candidates experienced in React who can work independently and ensure technical soundness in a compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and validate AI-generated React.js code converted from Ext.js
Debug and resolve functional issues to ensure output meets original application behavior
Develop and execute tests to confirm performance, accessibility, and functionality
Collaborate with internal team members and government stakeholders in an Agile environment
Apply secure coding and accessibility best practices appropriate for DoD and healthcare systems
Contribute to documentation and process improvements for the migration tool and QA steps
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret Clearance or DoD Public Trust (AFMED-compatible)
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science or Information Systems – or five (5) years of programming experience
Two (2) years of experience in each of the following: React TypeScript, Ext JS, .NET Framework with C#, XML, JSON, SQL, HTML, and Object-Oriented Design
Two (2) years of application experience with: roles and authentication, user-defined functions, structured reporting, dynamic form generation, MVC frameworks, and APIs
Strong debugging and testing skills in React environments
Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AFMED, MHS GENESIS, or other Military Health Systems
Familiarity with Ext.js legacy architecture and migration patterns
Understanding of DoD compliance frameworks (HIPAA, FISMA)
Experience with Git, Jira, and automated testing tools
Previous experience aligning to DoD labor categories (e.g., Web Developer)
Additional Details:
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (U.S. only)
Schedule: Full-Time preferred; Part-Time (20+ hrs/week) considered
Compensation: $40/hour–$50/hour (W2 or 1099 only)
Duration: 3-Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
