What are you going to do?

Our client is on a mission to find every renter a home they love at the value they deserve. As the fastest-growing online rental marketplace, their platform takes the time to understand renters’ preferences and seamlessly finds their perfect match while aligning incentives with our properties on-site. To date, they’ve helped nearly 1 million families find a home they love, and just getting started.

And while we have grown very quickly over the past few years, your job will be to take our data infrastructure and architecture to the next level, making data an internal strategic advantage.

The Search team works on the core experience for renters, building and improving the search engine powering the ranking algorithms, taking into account renter preferences, property availability, and our years of lease data to immediately match renters with the best candidates for their next home.

• Work on the infrastructure and web application that powers the renter experience
• Drive the tactical execution of the Search Team roadmap
• Collaborate with the product owner and designer to build and improve the renter search experience
• Architect and implement multi-service solutions to user problems
• Work on existing Ruby and Elasticsearch services in GCP and a modern React + Next.js web application
• Guide future technology choices as our product grows
• Employ machine learning algorithms to supercharge how we quickly identify the best and most relevant properties for our renters
• Work on a team of like-minded software engineers. We expect you to be great, and we expect you to make us all better

What will help you succeed

• Solid on React or Next or MaterialUI
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies
• Ruby on Rails (only basic or willing to learn and work 5% on it)
• Experience with Machine Learning is a plus (GoogleML, Open AI, AWS AI/ML) is a plus
