What is the opportunity?

The Data Engineering team in RBC IS plays a critical role to implement Data strategy.  The team supports data automation and democratization processes including gap analysis and enterprise data modeling, centralizes heterogeneous data sources, builds automated data pipelines, custom APIs to meet Data and Digital needs of stakeholders.

As a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, this role brings strong development skills and leadership, effective written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and a demonstrated capability to multi-task effectively.  This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities at times.  This is complemented by a positive attitude and a willingness to take accountability for results achieved.

What will you do?
As a Full stack developer, you will design and develop Data and digital solutions and integrate with across multiple systems across various geographies. This role will encompass an end-to-end delivery of Web portal, APIs (inbound and outbound) and Data services as per Software Delivery lifecycle.

  • Design and develop Web portals (Single Page Application)

  • Build and publish/consume APIs leveraging Cloud based Data sets as per Enterprise standards and security guidelines through container-based solutions

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, process engineers and business stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with AODA and Enterprise accessibility standards

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in following key technologies:

  • Full stack development:  Node.js, NestJS, Angular (14+), MSSQL server, Python

  • Cloud technologies: Azure Stack, Azure SQL, OpenShift

  • Security frameworks: LDAP, Kerberos, OAuth 2.0, Vault integration

  • Automation/DevOps: Jenkins, Selenium, Docker and similar technologies

  • Source code control: GIT

  • Experience working in agile/SaFe environment

Nice to Have:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

  • Hands on experience with Data modeling and data architecture

  • DevOps: Nexus, UCD

  • Comfortable applying engineering best practices for Test Driven Development, integration testing, version control, Continuous Integration
