Role Purpose: The Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) predominantly works on projects utilising front-end web technologies but can also undertake whole builds including back-end technologies when required. The Software Engineer understands modern tools and languages within web development but also investigates new tools, libraries and identifies application opportunities to new or existing products / projects. Working in an agile approach, you are expected to plan, prototype and build applications, in part or in full, whilst being able to work on your own, you will also be responsible for mentoring other engineers and assisting the Product Owner with agile ceremonies, including morning stand-ups and technical refinement of work, this also includes raising work requests and tickets within JIRA and making sure your team understand the work to be completed. The role can be at times very much R&D orientated with prototypes & proof-of-concepts as common outputs refined through ongoing stakeholder feedback. Innovation, problem solving, and excellent technical skills are essential to this role. A senior engineer will have the ability to plan projects and features as-well as assist other Software Engineers when required.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing the programming, testing, AWS services and deployment of enterprise solutions relating to Frontend projects
Training and supporting other engineers within the team where necessary
Providing technical support to Business Analysts, Architects, Project Managers, and other Developers
Creating enterprise software documentation and providing ticket support
Testing segments of project code to ensure quality and checking for errors
Working closely with architects, clients and internal business stakeholders to create bespoke solutions outside of our core products
Recommending appropriate tools, technologies, and processes for the development of scalable and software solutions
Working with established production processes to maintain consistent standards and innovate where possible
Establishing coding standards, guidelines, and project practices
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all IT business information
Being prompt to meetings and making sure you attend those that require your attendance these may include:
Client meetings assisting the Product Owner from a technical perspective
Agile ceremonies such as stand ups, retrospective and refinement sessions
Understanding of version control systems (GIT/SVN) including gitflow
Experience with restful API’s
Serverless / SAM frameworks for AWS deployments
Unit testing; Jasmine / Karma / Jest / Istanbul
Figma
Experience of some of the basic Amazon Web Services (S3, DynamoDB, EC2)

Minimum 3 years engineering experience (Including 1 year within a mid-level role)
Exposure to CMS platforms (Wordpress / Joomla / Drupal / OctoberCMS or custom made)
Commercial experience working with frontend technologies
Experience in creation of technical documentation
Basic backend development PHP / MySql (advantageous)
