Role Description:
Workspace Digital Journeys team is on a mission to provide financial professionals with a flawless, intuitive and personalised onboarding, learning and support experience in LSEG Workspace – LSEG's flagship SaaS financial platform. Helping while never getting in the way. We enable our customers to discover new and existing features in a vast universe of applications and market data.
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative, multi-functional, agile product development team responsible for building the best-of-class core UIs focusing on customer experience, engineering perfection and time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Development:
Design, develop, and maintain web apps and web services using ensuring scalability, security, and high performance
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
Conduct code reviews and establish standard processes for software development
System Design and Architecture:
Architect, deploy, and run applications on AWS and Azure platforms
Optimise cloud infrastructure for cost-efficiency and performance
Contribute to architectural decisions for back-end systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements
Collaborate with Product, Design, DevOps engineers to build end-to-end solutions
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues
Implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions
Project Management:
Participate in sprint planning, task estimation, and roadmap development
Ensure timely delivery of projects, meeting both technical and business objectives
Essential Technical Skills and Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in software development
Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js
Knowledge of RESTful API design and micro-services architecture
A deep understanding of how Web Browsers work, including in-depth knowledge of:
Native browser (DOM) APIs
Object-Oriented and Functional Programming
Performance - Layout/Rendering/GC/Object (memory) Management
Understanding of how web frameworks like Angular/React/Vue work under-the-hood
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience with Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure)
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
