As a Software Engineer II-Front End React/UI at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking-The Infatuation team you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the user experiences that are crucial to expanding our product portfolio. As an emerging member of a diverse and inclusive executional team, encompassing Product, Design, and Engineering, you will execute software solutions through all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities

  • Builds high-quality frontend user interfaces using an industry standard toolset including React, TypeScript, and Next.js
  • Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, Content Editors, and other disciplines
  • Writes clean, concise, and secure code with limited guidance
  • Collaborates with other Frontend, Backend, and Full-Stack Engineers for pair programming, code reviews, and project task estimation
  • Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
  • Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
  • Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
  • Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with 2+ years applied experience 
  • Experience using TypeScript, React, JSX/TSX, and other related frontend-oriented software languages and libraries
  • Competency in modern React methodologies and syntax such as hooks, functional components, and the Context API
  • Knowledgeable in mobile-first and responsive design principals
  • Experience debugging and solving cross-browser issues
  • Ability to integrate with APIs in the context of a modern Frontend application
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment
  • Experience working across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • An intense curiosity for staying ahead of modern frontend development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning
  • Capable of reviewing Figma design boards from a UX Designer for technical vetting and execution
  • Experience with or a desire to upskill into React Native for iOS and Android mobile development
  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud technologies
  • Experience working with GraphQL and headless CMS
  • A love for restaurants and great food!
