Comcast’s Smart Network Platform (SNP) Organization falls within CONNECT and aims to revolutionize network engineering at Comcast by providing a network data collection, alarming, and automation platform to drive consistency and standardization; eliminate manual changes; increase network visibility; and ultimately minimize customer impacting incidents.

Job Description

The Sr. Front-End Developer supports the UI team working on Smart Network Platform (SNP). Project is designed to manage thousands of devices within one of the largest cable networks. SNP utilizes many micro-services to configure, manager and visualize the network. Team is working on expanding and improving the system, and to design new components.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with the team to translate UX team wireframes guidance into Views in React

  • Help manage projects through the design, development and QA.

  • Be part of a team that SAFE Agile methodologies

  • Work on Node JS API layer

  • Oversees testing and develops fixes

  • Work on progressive redesign and maintenance projects that have an immediate impact on how our customers experience our brand every day

  • Develop new user-facing features

  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end

  • Participate in code review

  • Identifying blockers and applying creative solutions within company guidelines

  • Staying on top of current trends in web development

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and 5 to 8 years of experience in the field 

  • 5 or more years of experience in React and Node JS is required.

  • Good understanding of Front-End systems and Microservice architecture

  • Experience with Webpack, TypeScript

  • Experience with NoSQL DB such as MongoDB and data stores such as Elastic Search 

  • Experience with containerization and Jenkins

  • Experience with AWS cloud 

  • Linux / Unix / MacOS experience

  • JIRA or similar 

  • Git or similar
