Responsibilities and Duties

• Mentor team members and ensure project’s success;
  
• It is expected that the ideal candidate understands a broad range of Software Engineering concepts and their applicability;
  
• It is expected that the ideal candidate understands a broad range of Web Development concepts and their applicability;
  
• It is expected that the candidate will be able to discuss the trade-offs of different design approaches by elaborating detailed design documents or expressing verbally these in meetings with stakeholders;
  
• Lead the design and development of new features;
  
• Participation in the complete cycle of development from requirements gathering, development, and testing;
  
• Participation in technical discussions with stakeholders;
  
• Implement the designed solution from coding to testing. 
  
   

Essential Skills

• Solid Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript; 
  
• Solid Experience with ReactJS;
  
• Solid understanding of Functional programming principles;
  
• Experience with TDD being able to comfortably write Unit and Integration tests;
  
• Experience with GraphQL;
  
• Strong background on API/REST; 
  
• Knowledge on NodeJS and Express; 
  
• Experience working with agile/scrum teams;
  
• Experience in troubleshooting production issues; 
  
• Knowledge in UI/UX techniques and design patterns; 
  
• Knowledge in SQL and NoSQL databases; 
  
• Experience guiding Agile Teams;
  
• Experience with AWS in one or more of the following services: 
  - AppSync, pipeline resolvers;
  - Lambdas;
  - S3;
  - RDS.
  
  

Highly Desirable Skills 

• Experience with CKEditor;
  
• Experience with Wiris;
  
• Experience with 1EdTech QTI;
  
• Experience with automated testing leveraging Jest, Cypress or Selenium;
  
• Experience with customizing third party embedded components in React.
