About the role 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with expertise in NodeJS to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend services, managing complex systems, and providing architectural direction. This role requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services using NodeJS

• Learn and understand existing code and architecture

• Work on documentation to ensure clarity and consistency

• Provide architectural direction and guidance to the team

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex systems

• Manage and optimize systems composed of dozens of components

• Troubleshoot and resolve backend-related issues

• Ensure data integrity and security

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development using NodeJS

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript and NodeJS

• Experience with AWS services including: Lambda, containerized services, SQS, and DynamoDB

• Proven ability to manage complex systems with multiple components

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

• Proactive and willing to bring up issues and solutions independently

• Experience with backend services and architecture

• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and best practices

• Knowledge of modern software development frameworks and languages (e.g., Python, Java)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
