Zipdev is looking for a talented Tech Lead with strong expertise in Django, AWS and React to join our team. This role involves working closely with a US-based client specializing in aircraft repairs and software. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for leading the technical strategy, making key architectural decisions, and ensuring best practices in security, data flow, and encryption. You will oversee the entire product, ensuring the team is aligned with the technical vision and executing efficiently. This role requires hands-on experience with React (frontend), Django (backend), AWS (cloud infrastructure), and Confluence (documentation & collaboration).

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Decision-Making:

• Define the technical direction of the product, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• Make strategic architecture and design decisions to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
• Drive best practices for coding, security, DevOps, and system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across all parts of the system.

Full-Stack Development & System Oversight:

• Lead and oversee React (frontend) and Django (backend) development to ensure a well-structured and maintainable codebase.

• Ensure AWS infrastructure is optimized, secure, and cost-efficient.
• Manage data flows and encryption, ensuring compliance with security and privacy standards.
• Develop and maintain high-performance APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange between frontend and backend.

Security, Data Flows & Encryption:

• Implement and enforce security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Oversee encryption strategies for data at rest and in transit.
• Ensure the integrity of data flows between services, databases, and third-party integrations.

Team Direction & Mentorship:

• Lead a team of engineers by setting clear objectives and technical roadmaps.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
• Guide the team in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical challenges.

Project Management & Documentation:

• Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation using Confluence.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align technical goals with business objectives.
• Ensure efficient sprint planning, roadmap execution, and delivery timelines.
• Optimize development workflows and CI/CD pipelines for faster, more reliable deployments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack engineering.
• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Lead or an Engineering Architect
• Strong expertise in React (frontend) and Django (backend).
• Solid experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, etc.).
• Deep understanding of security best practices, data flow architectures, and encryption techniques.
• Experience making high-level technical decisions and leading a development team.
• Strong knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with Confluence for documentation and team collaboration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to balance strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
