As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Credit Risk Corporate Technology world, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to develop modern, scalable, resilient UI applications with sub second response from scratch.
  • Consider Accessibility , Security, Observability & Performance as part of all owned applications/deliverables.
  • Be self driven, create and maintain technical documentation as part of new features or spike discoveries.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to team discussions/meetings/guilds.
  • Ensure high-quality code through solid testing and adherence to best practices/standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve existing or newly identified prioritized defects.
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
    Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and  applied experience
  • Strong proficiency in React and its core principles.
  • Solid grasp of Web fundamentals such as HTML/CSS/JS etc
  • Experience with caching frameworks to build responsive and performant front end.
  • Solid understanding of credentials management, authentication tools.
  • Experience of building applications having granular entitlements
  • Proficient in coding in Java, with hands-on experience with Spring boot framework & Spring-based applications.
  • Experience querying large datasets, proficiency in SQL
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  • Exposure to cloud technologies AWS 
  • Exposure to databricks
  • Financial domain experience
