Sportradar is a technology first software development company with high emphasis on building high performing services on best practice principles, and the global leader in understanding and leveraging the power of sports data and digital content.


We’re looking to expand our data acquisition team in Warsaw with a Tech Lead. As a senior member of the team you will work with colleagues across Europe and the USA to define, shape and build the ways in which Sportradar obtains sports data from external sources and delivers them to both internal consumers and Sportradar’s customers who depend on the data being reliable, accurate and delivered


THE CHALLENGE:


Data sources come in a variety of shapes, protocols and technologies; as such you need to be comfortable analyzing each source, identifying the relevant data and then finding ways to extract it efficiently. Where generalization does exist, you should be able to identify it and work with the architects and other engineers in the creation of a data extraction framework.

As a Technical Leader within the team you will work closely with Tribe Architects and Product Owners, and be comfortable collaborating on ideas, approaches and potential technical solutions. You will also welcome the chance to assist and mentor more junior developers within the team, sharing your knowledge and insights.

YOUR PROFILE:

Due to the nature of the work the team do, the list of applicable technologies and languages that you might expect to come across is significant. However, the core skills we look for are as follows:

  • TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience with modern web technologies, e.g. web sockets, HTTP/2, REST, gRPC • Git - we use GitLab, CI/CD
  • Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Fargate • Familiarity with various AWS services including S3, VPC, ElastiCache, MSK, etc.
  • Java (desirable - exposure to other JVM-based languages also desirable)

In addition to the above you should also be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • A problem-solving attitude, i.e. not just focused on writing code, but on tackling complex problems and determining how best to solve them.
  • Creating clean, high-quality and secure solution.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience with TDD and BDD.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies.
