The Opportunity
You'll be joining our scale-up journey as a Senior Software Engineer, working closely with the Product Team to lead the development of new features. Your work will help shape our platform, engineering capabilities, and unique experiences The Collecting Group provides.

With an agile mindset and a commitment to clean, efficient code using NEXT.js and React, you'll play an essential role in The Collecting Group’s technical architecture, product development, and overall success. Your technical acumen and mentorship will help define the Group's overall strategy.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in JavaScript, NEXT.js, and React, along with solid computer science fundamentals and experience with multitenancy and internationalisation.
• Analyse complex problems and devise innovative solutions, sharing your experiences. Identify improvement areas and enhance our products and platform.
• Own and prioritise tasks, provide estimates, meet deadlines, and communicate progress.
• Catch issues early on with a combination of experience and attention to detail
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all team members, including the Product team and wider business.
• Mentor others on NEXT.js, React, Software Engineering, and your strengths/unique skills.
• A passion for software engineering, challenging projects, and continuous learning.

A day at The Collecting Group

• Our typical work day starts at 09:00 with a 09:30 standup to discuss progress, roadblocks, and the plan for the day. We use Kanban to organise and manage work, ensuring that priorities are clear and tasks are moving smoothly through our Jira workflow.
• As a senior engineer, you'll manage and prioritise work and make significant contributions to the overall success of the team and product.
• Work hand-in-hand with Product and the wider business to align on goals, strategies, and detailed requirements.
• Take ownership and deliver complex requirements, leading projects from conception to completion.
• Help define our architecture, processes and platform guidelines and lead by example adhering to to them.
• Enjoy dedicated focus time for intensive coding and problem-solving, balanced with collaboration and discussion.
• Share your extensive skills with the team. Assist with code reviews and paired programming, helping to elevate the team's technical proficiency.
• Develop and test, whilst being immersed in some of the most interesting cars and watches in the world.
